Humpback Underwater - 2003

First off, it's one of those "Better looking if viewed from a distance" things. I'm practicing with Prismacolors again, and I'm frustrated because colored pencils really aren't my thing. Yet. I'm still hoping. Advice and tips GREATLY appreciated.

Lot of blending frustration. Lot of frustration with sharpening the pencils, since the tips snap off so easily. It was hard to get detail, especially with the eye. (Which didn't scan well anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter.) If you have a sharpening tip for these things, share and I'll give you a cookie. ;)

Frustration with the scanner, which was doing weird stupid things with it. Too dark, too red, just plain wrong period. Tweaked it in Photoshop, but it still doesn't resemble the original. = Colors are off and I can't get them right.
