Corky and Calf - 1997


It took me a long time to get comfortable with using colors, and this piece is the second time I ever did something in color. It's of Corky, an orca now living at Sea World of California, and one of her many calves that didn't survive back when she lived at Marineland in Palos Verdes, CA. This is done in oil pastels on some paper that seems to be made for the stuff.
