Branches - 1999

These branches were part of a class assignment to paint something using only black and white. I painted some branches with a cloud behind them. It's acrylic on really lousy paper that warped when I painted on it. Our class wasn't "good enough" to use the nice stuff. And our professor was a nut who gave me C's no matter what I did, even on the abstract stuff. (How can you grade abstract art? He told us to draw a bunch of lines. I drew a bunch of lines, I got a C. Other people drew a bunch of lines that looked just like my bunch of lines, and they got an A. ::shrugs:: My grades improved considerably after he had a heart attack and we got a new professor for the rest of the semester.)
